Get in alignment and don’t let your dreams be only dreams. Probably asking what do you mean by get in alignment? Here’s a story that happened to me years ago, but it’s the perfect scenario for getting in alignment. Have you ever dreamed about a place you’ve wanted to visit, but thought there is no way to afford it? Well, I use to. I remember shortly after college, I wanted to travel to Hawaii. I had no idea how I was going to get there because I had no travel budget, but I knew I was going.
The first step in going was making that decision to go. Once the decision was made, I enlisted in the help of a travel agent who allowed me to make monthly payments. In the end, I had to pay a lump sum and had no idea how I was going to pay it. By being in alignment with my strong desire to visit Hawaii, I was able to make it happen. Approximately a month before the money was due, I called in on a radio contest and won $1,000. Isn’t that crazy?! I couldn’t believe it myself… it’s amazing how things work out sometimes.
We all can’t win $1,000 off the radio whenever we want, although it would be nice, but we can dream and align ourselves properly to carry out our desires. A friend of mine is taking off from the daily grind and traveling for a year throughout Mexico and Central America with her boyfriend. They saved up for five years to have this journey of a lifetime, but they had a dream and worked very hard to make it happen. She will be starting a blog in the near future, and I’ll share it on Travel Elixir to follow along on their adventures.
It is my goal to visit them on one of their stops, but due to my daughter’s out of state school trip and traveling home to visit family, it’s going to be a challenge. I’d love to meet up with them in Costa Rica, which is on my Travel Bucket List, but I’ll fly to any destination that affords me a deal. Notice how I didn’t say, I don’t have enough money or it’s not possible, I said it’s going to be a challenge. There’s a difference and I’ve already begun to align myself with the desire. Where there is a will, there is a way so don’t be surprised if I tell you that I won another $1,000. Better yet, I’ll have the honor of blogging about it once I’m there and will link back to this post.
