Taking time to recharge after vacation is one of the best things you can do for yourself.
It’s always fantastic to escape the daily grind and go on vacation, but when it’s time to go back you want to feel recharged and ready to go. After taking a long vacation, it seems like you’re relaxed and refueled; however, sometimes it feels as if another vacation is needed just to recoup.
I remember a time in my 20’s where I could go, go, go; wake up the next day and do it all over again. Not so much anymore. As much as I love to travel, taking time off when upon return and recharging is a must. I recommend at least a day, but if you have the flexibility and time to take more days off then go for it!
Strategic planning is order when it comes to taking time off and incorporating recouping time. For instance, my upcoming trip to Costa Rica will be a week long; I planned to return on a Thursday and took that Friday off giving myself the weekend to recoup and recharge before returning to work that Monday.
So remember… Go forth and VACATION, RECHARGE, RECOUP, then GO!
